Tuesday, May 2, Anson High School held our annual academic banquet. There was a very nice turnout of families and others to recognize and congratulate the students on their academic achievements. Several groups were recognized including our All-Stars (A Honor Roll), NHS, and Top 10 Percent.

The valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2023 was also announced. Asher Jobe, son of Austin & Amber Jobe, was named the valedictorian with a GPA of 103.00. Laramy Overby, daughter of Glen & Gina Overby, was named the salutatorian with a GPA of 101.45. Both of these students worked hard to earn these honors while being involved in a multitude of extracurricular activities all 4 years of their high school careers. Asher was not present for the banquet because he was in Oklahoma representing Anson FFA in the National Range Competition along with his 3 teammates, Cheyene Wedeking, Chelsea Rodriguez, and Avan Jobe.
Numerous seniors also received scholarships from a number of civic groups, businesses, and families. Anson High School is extremely grateful for all the individuals that care so much for our students and are willing to contribute to these scholarships that help them continue with their education and pursue their career choices.
